Deepika promotes KCK on Radio Mirchi 98.3 fm
MUMBAI : It was a clear case of ‘Karthik calling Karthik’ as Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM’s lucky listener Karthik from Mumbai got a telephone call from reel life Karthik played byFarhan Akhtar in his upcoming movie with the same name.
Renowned actor cum director Farhan Akhtar was at the Radio Mirchi studio with co starDeepika Padukone.
India’s leading radio station ran a contest where all Karthiks in the city could participate and win a chance to receive a surprise call from none other than Farhan Akhtar or Karthik. Both stars of the film were live on Mumbai’s No.1 evening drive show Sunset Samosa with RJ Suren. In a mood to joke and pull each other’s leg as they spoke about their roles, their first shot together and Farhan’s rockstar image after ‘Rock on’.
When asked with what image he likes being identified most - a rock star, a director or an actor, Farhan promptly replied “Of course a rock star, every guy likes thinking that he is a total rock star!”
Deepika discussed her role of Shonali Mukherjee, a Bengali girl who is extremely outgoing, an extrovert who loves to live life to the fullest and is a complete contrast to Farhan’s character Karthik who is shy and an introvert.
She spoke about her favourite moves from the song ‘Uff teri adda’ and her experience of acting drunk in spite of being a teetotaller!
She went on to elaborate how she was apprehensive about having her hair cut for the role and later being convinced as Shonali’s character with long hair was unimaginable.
‘Karthik Calling Karthik', is the story of a lovable loser Karthik, whose life changes with the help of someone who also claims to be Karthik. A thrilling, soulful and romantic journey of this man's victory against all odds.
‘Uff teri Adda’ from the film is already gaining popularity with its foot tapping music and fabulous lyrics by Farhan’s father, renowned lyricist Javed Akhtar. Catch this song along with other songs from the film like ‘Hey ya!’, ‘Kaisi hai yeh udaasi’ and ‘Jaane yeh kya hua’ on your favourite radio station.
