- Deepika Padukone and Arjun Rampal met Om Shanti Om combo contest winners at Fame Cinemas in Inorbit Mall, Malad, Mumbai, November 26. The day happened to be Arjun Rampal's birthday but the star chose to focus on promoting the film, which has set box office cash registers ringing all over the world.
Speaking with the press, the just turned 35-year-old said, "Today people were asking me to make a wish but that was being greedy because OSO is the biggest gift for me." Deepika Padukone, recalling her recent trip to Jaipur with Shah Rukh Khan to witness the final India - Pakistan ODI of the series and, if tabloids are to be believed, spend an evening with cricketer Yuvraj Singh, said:
"I was in Jaipur recently where I met the Maharani of Jaipur and she told me she saw the film thrice and it was so satisfying." Om Shanti Om collected $2.89 m at the US box office in its first two weeks, beating the $1.11m that Shah Rukh starrer Chak De India grossed over its entire run by a six pack margin.
